Fields of research

Cathedral of Ecclesiastical and Concordat Law

The Cathedral conducts research on the rights of the freedom of thought, freedom of conscience, and freedom of religion, as vested in all people, as well as on the legal standing of churches and other religious denominations in the light of Polish law. The research conducted also takes into consideration the comparative legal aspects, and the issues related to Ecclesiastical law in the European Union and beyond, as well as the role of the Holy See in international relations.

The main directions of research in the Department:

? Primates principles of Polish Ecclesiastical law

? Religious freedom in the legal order of the European Union

? Agreement between the state and religious associations in the system of sources of Ecclesiastical law

Fields of research:

?         institutional forms of dialogue between State and Church

?         methods of regulating the relations between the state and religious denominations

?         the guiding principles of Polish Ecclesiastical law

?         religious freedom in the legal order of the European Union

?         religious symbols in the public space

?         the changes of denominational law currently in force

?         the ecclesiastical form of a civil marriage

?         the injunction against discrimination in employment because of religious or personal beliefs

?         the agreements and contracts between the state and religious denominations

?         religious organizations and associations in Polish law
